Tight winter lies… No drawback for a putt with a fairway wooden or hybrid. What fairway woods and/or hybrids are in your bag?
.
In case you have a 5-wood use that. In any other case, 3-wood works nice too. The lies right here in Texas this time of 12 months a good and infrequently comfortable because of rain. A wedge from this kind of lie is disastrous!

  2. I have a 3 wood and a 5 wood, and a 4 hybrid and 5 hybrid (that replace the 4 and 5 irons). I love all of em, and my hybrids and 5 wood have become very reliable.

  3. Disastrous? A triple on the second hole after blading a 58° wedge across the green is not disastrous…it’s all in the head! *reaches for 4h next time*

  4. When taking this approach, what % of a putt stroke do you recommend? Love this option, but lack of practice can make it quite tricky early/late in the season!

  5. Learned it today the hard way, switched to PW or 8i most of the time but spider X works great around the green as well 🙂
